The first graders will be going on a field trip to The Benjamin Harrison Home in Indianapolis on December 18th. Benjamin Harrison was the only president from Indiana. The students will be learning about the differences between the late 1800's and now. They also will be making a wooden soldier ornament. Benjamin Harrison was the first president to have a decorated Christmas tree in the White House. He decorated it with wooden soldiers in honor of his comrades during the Civil War. Permission Slips will be coming home next week.
